The end of the year is here and the final day of school is quickly approaching.  Wow--what a whirlwind it has been!

Thank you for making this a great year so far and we look forward to ending on a high note with our students knocking the top of the test.  Please keep in mind that the levels for EOGs will not be available until next fall.  We will receive a score that will be used to calculate their final year average.  

As we enter the next few weeks, your help is critical to our success.  First,  encourage your child and let them know you believe in their ability and efforts.  Start each morning off with positive feedback and encouragement.  Testing is stressful for the students and teachers.  We want to set a positive tone each day to get everyone off to the right start.

Secondly,please make sure your child receives plenty of rest the night before.  With so many days of testing and our busy lives it is easy to forget how valuable this can be.  Make sure your teen has their phone turned off at night and that they have received a good 8 hours of rest.  

Remind students of expectations for cell phones and dress code.  We are working hard to prepare for all the exams and hope you will support us as we enforce policies.  Discipline is important so that everyone has the opportunity to prepare in the next several weeks.

Students will be fed breakfast the morning of EOG at no cost by the school if they indicated to us that they wanted to participate.  Please make sure your child eats a good filling breakfast during Common Exams as well. 

As we close out the year, I just want to reiterate how important you are to our school's success.  Our PTO and Athletic Boosters are a tremendous support to our school academically and athletically.  We are blessed to have a great school and fantastic community.  As our 8th grade parents move forward, we appreciate all you have done for our school.  To our rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents I hope you will continue to support our parent groups and stay connected.  Without you, we will not be able to provide the outstanding opportunities that our students have.  Thank you for all that you do and we look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence at WWMS!  It is truly the best place to be!
