It's the holidays!
Help us meet our 60,000 Box Top Goal by clipping Box Tops while cooking those
delicious meals this holiday season.
We are 1/4 of the way to that goal and this is a great time to help us make it over 1/2 way.
Thanks for supporting our school!!
It's the season to celebrate and we wish you and your family the best this holiday season! We are working hard as we enter the 1/2 way point in the 2nd 9 weeks. With that comes my familiar reminder about Reading Counts and the need to have 50 points. We saw lots of students not make the grade because they did not take this seriously. As you will notice with the recent release of the EOG scores our standards are tougher and the rigor is higher in order to be considered proficient on the NC EOGS. Reading takes practice and this is why we count it 25% of your child's LA grade. Please make sure over the long breaks that your child reads and continues to take tests.
Progress Reports will go home on Wednesday, Dec. 4th. Please review, sign, and discuss with your child their progress. We have enjoyed meeting and talking to our parents over the course of the past few weeks during conferences. As you know, our teachers are passionate about helping kids and your help at home makes our work meaningful. Thank you for placing school work at the head of the priority line!
As we celebrate the season, we hope you will join us for our band and chorus performances. It's a great way to enjoy the holiday's and to see the hard work of our students. Click on the school calendar link for dates and times.
As always, there is so much going on. I hope you will join us on Twitter to keep up with our school as well as visit our webpage often. Our teachers post information on their websites as well.
From the faculty, students, staff, Ms. Patrick and myself. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
